The cruise experts at CHT Cruises and Tours will suggest an cruise itinerary
that allows you to retrace the influences of Spanish and Mexican history
in an exciting yet relaxing way. Cruising along the Mexican Riviera
and the Baja will give you the opportunity to experience the wildly festive
spirit of this corner of the globe and an opportunity to shop, dance or
just relax. The beautiful beaches of the Mexican Riviera and the cobblestone
streets of Puerta Vallarta await your exploration. The treasures of Acapulco,
the unspoiled beaches and exciting golf courses of Ixtapa are all yours
to try.
The Mexican Riviera is the Pacific Coast side of Mexico with such well known ports (north to south) as Santa Rosalia, Loreto, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas (cabos), Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Ixtapa(Zihuatanejo), Acapulco. The first four ports are located on the Baja Peninsula which between it and the main land borders the Sea of Cortez an area well know for its marine life and where every year, from January to March, humpback, gray and blue whales frequent the waters. If you choose the right itinerary your cruise may offer the opportunity to see these giant sea mammals up close and personal. As an added attraction your ship may be joined by frolicking dolphins playing in the ship's wake.
Itineraries offered can be classified in two broad categories with some exception of 3 or 4 day cruises or longer 14 day cruises offered by Crystal cruise line.
- 7 to 9 day cruises - departing from San Diego, Los Angeles or San Francisco these round trip cruises will sail along the Mexican Riviera south to Puerto Vallarta and then return to the port of departure. Along the way these Mexico cruises will include as many Mexican Riviera ports as are feasible. Holland America, Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival Cruises all offer these cruises.
- 10 day cruises - these are also roundtrip Mexican Riviera cruises and depart from the same ports as the somewhat shorter cruises listed above. However they do tend to travel further south and generally will include Acapulco in the itinerary. Again Holland America Cruise Line, Princess, Celebrity Cruises etc. offer these Mexican Riviera Cruises.
